Why people are getting involved…

The Pink Lady® team is proud to be working alongside Max and his Great Fruit & Veg Adventure family. The importance of introducing children to the benefits of eating fresh produce from an early age is a topic close to all our hearts at Pink Lady®. Fruit and veg doesn’t have to be boring and we need to find fun and exciting ways of engaging with the younger generation. Max’s Great Fruit & Veg Adventure is a shining example of this. His enthusiasm for the cause and passion for educating children is contagious. We’re looking forward to working on more adventures with him and his team.
Michelle Toft, Chief Marketing Officer at Corego®, Master licensor of Pink Lady® in UK

The Great Fruit and Veg adventure is and inspiring and exciting initiative which comes at a time when we are bombarded by warnings from the medical world of a crisis brought on by eating too much processed food and sugary delights. This project reminds us of the importance of introducing our children to natural food straight from the tree or plant and grown in magical places here and around the world so that they can grow healthily, live fully and reach an old age without difficulties. Max and his team have our full support for this very much needed initiative.
Anthony Pile MBE – Founder & Chairman of Blue Skies

We are fortunate to work in an industry that produces heathy fresh food. Initiatives like The Great Fruit & Veg Adventure, that encourages increased consumption of fresh produce in children can only be a good thing as we compete against unhealthy alternatives. Through The Great Fruit Adventure, G’s were delighted to invite the guys to our farm in Senegal, where they had the opportunity to talk about their adventure and healthy eating with the kids at the local school. Thus making for a truly international endeavour striving to promote a healthy diet and lifestyle in our future generations.
Anthony Gardiner Marketing Director G’s Fresh Ltd

The Great Fruit & Veg Adventure is doing some really valuable work in educating kids about where their food comes from and the value – and pleasure – that comes with healthy eating. It’s never been more important for children and their parents in particular to see how they can incorporate more fruit and veg in their meals, so it’s great to see this initiative helping to raise awareness and understanding in a fun, but informative way.
Michael Barker Editor Fresh Produce Journal

I can remember being fascinated as child by all of the wonderful fresh ingredients my mum would cook with. I was eager to learn, as all children are. The Great Fruit and Veg Adventure is giving children that opportunity and inspiring them along the way. What a great way to give our kids the knowledge and skills to help them live a healthy life. We’re very proud to be involved.
John Hamill, Manging Director – Servest

When I first met Max and the Great Fruit & Veg Adventure team I was instantly inspired by their passion and vision. In an age when so much of a child’s life is based around electronics and social media here was an idea that I felt could really capture the imagination of children and introduce them to “real food” that’s easy to prepare and eat and actually tastes delicious – as well as being good for them. I believe that we in Foodservice have a great deal to offer in working with the full spectrum of educational establishments to ensure great fruit and veg is always available, easy to use and incorporated into the meal plans. Working with foodservice distributors will also ensure the most efficient route to market and help to keep fresh produce affordable and high on the agenda. The Great Fruit & Veg Adventure will be a really exciting journey for us all!
Christopher Faulkner Logistics Change Director at Brakes Group

We all have a duty to educate the children, to help them to understand the world they live in and the healthy options that are open to them. Children who grow up healthy – partaking in sport and eating fruit and veg – become productive citizens as they grow up. By supporting and promoting The Great Fruit & Veg Adventure we can all play our part in this process. The Citrus Growers’ Association of Southern Africa was privileged to be part of the first adventure – join in and be energized!!!”
Justin Chadwick, Chief Executive Officer, Citrus Growers Association in South Africa

Over the past year The Great Fruit & Veg Adventure has become a part of thousands of children’s education, not only in the UK but across Europe and Africa. The adventure has helped to drive awareness about children’s diet, obesity and nutrition, it has created a buzz in the industry and instigated action.
I’m so proud to be part of the Great Fruit & veg Adventure, it is a superb platform to educate children, improve diets & share brilliant fresh produce stories globally.

The Greencell & Westfalia businesses support the UK Schools Fruit and Vegetable Scheme. Additionally, we are hugely enthusiastic in our support for the fantastic work being undertaken through The Great Fruit & Veg Adventure.

New Spitalfields Market are proud to support The Great Fruit &Veg Adventure. As the premier wholesale market of fresh produce in the UK we are always keen to support any venture that encourages the younger generations to consume more fresh fruit and veg and the efforts of the Great Fruit & Veg team in promoting this have been fantastic to date – long may it continue. The health and well-being of our children is constantly under attack from junk food and fizzy drinks and it is always good to support projects that try to rebalance this ever increasing consumption of the wrong type of calories! Good luck to Max and the team and keep up the good work – the old adage “an apple a day” is such a simple one and now we are bombarded with information that says it should be ten a day – ANY consumption of fresh fruit and veg is an improvement and Max and his colleagues are spreading the word!
Jan Hutchinson – Chief Exec of the Tenants Association New Spitalfields Market
